Sales
Written by JBR     March 05, 2007
I was looking to not only improve my sales skills but also earn a certification that I could add to my resume. I did a lot of searching and found a lot of different "for fee" sales training and several sales based certifications and chose the CPSP from nasp.com

The training lasted 45 days and was much different than I initially expected. At first, I was a little disappointed as the cpsp had very little to do with actual sales techniques and more about me being more focused and dedicated. After around 10 days, things really started to click. I found myself much more driven at work and more focused. The real benefit was that I knew what I wanted and started to use my sales skills (which also improved through my focus) to work towards my desires.

After a little over a month, my co-workers started commenting on my improved sales results and I knew that I was getting much better.

Now I have my CPSP and while I am not looking for a new sales job right now, having the certification means a lot and I am sure that several employers will see the certification as a positive distinction.
