Site of The Week: JobRadio.fm - Chris Russell discusses Career Internet Radio Station E-mail
I had the opportunity to Interview Chris Russell, 10 year veteran of the online recruiting industry, entrepreneur, podcaster, and co-founderchris_russell of JobRadio.fm. Chris discusses his career Internet Radio station that streams career advice and tips 24 hours a day.

I tuned in for a while and heard an array of information from networking to find a new job to mortgage information.  Once again, I think Chris Russell has another winner on his hands.

JBR: What is JobRadio.fm and how does it help employers and job seekers?

Russell: Its a career advice internet radio station that streams career advice shows and tips to listeners 24 hours a day. Its designed as an educational tool to help people become better job seekers.

JBR: What are some of the shows featured on JobRadio?

Russell: JobRadio.fm is currently broadcasting this exciting career audio: The Savvy JobseekerJobacleSecrets of the Job HuntJobs in Pods, Total Picture R
adio, Career Communique Radio, Career Renegade and The Job Search Guy.

JBR: How many listeners does JobRadio reach and how are they listening?

Russell: The station is averaging about 1,000 listeners per week right now. 65% tune in via the iTunes radio directory, the rest listen online via our website.

JBR: What is/was the most successful podcast on JobRadio to date?

Russell: Why was it so successful?
Good question, dont know if I have a good answer since we change the shows in the stream each week to keep it fresh.

JBR: How do you keep the content on JobRadio fresh and new for all the listeners? Are there any plans of becoming a live talk radio?

Russell: Each week we change the rotation of shows to ensure fresh content. On any given week the combined shows take up about 6-8 hours of programming and then they repeat themselves. We're sprinkling in content throughout the week and most of the shows are available to download on demand.

JBR: As a veteran in the job board and career Industry, where do you see the industry heading?  What are some of the most useful tools online for both jobseekers and employers?

Russell: Its never been a better time to job hunt from a 'resource' perspective. There are some many tools and resources you can use to become better job hunters. Podcasts, videos, free resume templates, etc, you name it, its there for the taking. I think its important for seekers to take charge of their search and improve themselves on job hunting techniques. Stuff like SimplyHired and JibberJobber impress me.

JBR: What are your plans in the future for JobRadio and what new features and shows do you expect to introduce?

Russell: We're coming out with an iPhone app so that users can stream the station with one click from their iphone. We'd like to make an app for the Blackberry also. We're accepting a lot of content these days off our toll-free comment line 888-645-1637 so we're pretty excited about that.
