The company goal of jobirn.com is to become the free real time platform for recruiters and hiring managers.
Jobirn.com was founded on observation of the following two issues in recruiting market.
Ineffective communication channel - usually an e-mail based communication channel is costly to communicate in. There are long delays and lacks interaction. Video interview is something feasible technically, but not commonly available.
Spams - Email based recruiting are subject to spams. Applicants are forced to send hundreds or thousands of copies of their resumes, given that response rate is so low. Its very hard for recruiters to pick the right one.
Jobirn.com solution is a real time online system. Recruiters stay online most of the time, without logging to jobirn.com. All they need to do is to bundle their messenger with jobirn.
A video Interview comes handy, when they find qualified applicants, willing for a face-to-face conversation.
The strict Spam-Control policy protects recruiters from spam. Because its a chat-based system, applicants may not spam - if they are reported 3 times, their account will be closed.

i just got a job from their recruiter days ago.
i was referred to jobirn from simplyhired.com weeks ago. It took 2s to open... not sure if it's cause of my internet access speed. I applied and saw a chat box in the right side. I typed and asked what this was. There was a nice customer service named mapro told me that i could chat with recruiter here. I was pleased and signed up as member, then I got a chance to talk with that recruiter. He thought that my condition is quite good. Then he moved me forward to the next round interview. Sweet taste! Thanks.
However, there are something I don't like. They are free. However, I can see some sponsored offer from the partners. I can understand what this means to a free job boards. Buy or not, your choice! Anyway, I hope they can solve this issue.
Jobirn is slow, invasive, and looking to get my $$

The site takes forever to load. They sucker punch users into filling out an extensive resume profile, only to say at the end of many pages, there is a rather steep fee. Using indeed, juju, or dice directly to find employers, then go directly to the employer site to apply. Then use elbow grease to network into target companies using LinkedIn.
For the most part, nothing special here except that jobirn pretends it's different.
The Jobirn site is an absolute pain to use - easily the worst job search site I have encountered. Here are the main issues:
1. It doesn't function properly with Firefox. You have to use it with IE.
2. You can't apply to anything without signing up on their site. In and of itself, this would only be a mild inconvenience, save for #3 below.
3. To sign up, you MUST have an MSN Messenger account as it appears that they are dead set on chatting with you. If you don't have an MSN Messenger account, you cannot sign up. This is ridiculous, especially if you find IM to be annoying.
I have "blocked" all Jobirn-based job ads from my Indeed.com account as it is pointless to even attempt to apply for anything advertised there. Terrible idea and execution all the way around. Avoid Jobirn unless you enjoy hurling expletives at your computer.
